Spring Into Self Care

Updated: May 25, 2019

Are you excited? The sun is coming back to the Northern Hemisphere which mean longer days to play and explore. Life is busting up through the ground and spring is springing. With that things are shifting and moving. The earth is giving way to life. The rivers are gushing and pushing out old stuck debris. Now is the perfect time to plant the seeds for the life you want to be reaping this fall.

What is your vision for this year? Is it a better job? To be stronger and healthier? To have more time with your friends and family?

Invest in yourself! It is the greatest investment you will ever make and you get 100% of the returns. I've been focusing a lot on what I can do to create the life I want and the answer I find is EVERYTHING. It is mindset and finding the tools you need to get to where you want to be. How do you nourish yourself? How to create growth, expansion, and feed yourself? In order to have experience and things you've never had before you have to act in ways you've never behaved before.

The body, mind, and spirit are all their own entities that need to be challenged and nourished in order to grow stronger and healthier. What do we do for the mind? Work on challenging puzzles these can be mind games or actual new tasks like writing a blog or taking on a project you're not familiar with. To nourish the mind we sleep. The brain uses 20% of the bodies energy, it needs rest. Maybe we take supplements that allow the neurotransmitters of the brain to connect easily.

For the muscles of the body it can be a way to strengthen and nourish muscles, organs, nerves, hormones, and more. Simply put strength is built when you tax or load the system giving it the opportunity to respond. It knows it was just tested and responds by strengthening its defenses for the next time.

For the muscles of the body it can be strength training or movement of any pace and time. For the skin using active ingredients like acids, scrubs, and retinols will make the skin build itself stronger, thicker, healthier. For your lungs it breathing intensely.

Then the system needs to be rested and nourished with healthy food, supplements, and awareness. For the muscles

The spirit is a lovely part of us. Whatever that word means to you whether it is apart of a religious belief, a scientific concept, or a universal concept. Largely the way to become stronger in spirit is to practice patient and acceptance. Accepting what is and not needing to change it because you feel uncomfortable is one of the best ways to strengthen spirit. Being kind and gentle when things feel chaotic. We can nourish the soul by seeking out what makes us happy! Maybe that is being in community, or taking time for ourselves.

All of these are ideas for caring for yourself. What do you want out of life? What do you want for yourself? How will you be able to help other achieve their dreams by becoming the best version of yourself? The great poet Rumi states, "Yesterday I was clever and wanted to change the world. Today I am wise so I am changing myself.
